The first psychopedagogical system to reach martial arts

The official Mugendo schools are centers specialized in the ancient martial arts that aim to provide a solid, effective education full of values with the goal of maintaining discipline both inside and outside the Mugendo school. Thus, they offer to educate and reinforce a series of values such as teamwork, discipline, coordination, concentration, balance, and respect, which should be practiced daily by the child and not only during class.

To maintain these values, individualized psychological monitoring is done through the Mugendo agenda. This provides communication between the center and the family, including motivational phrases, stories with educational messages, and letters for parents. The psychologist evaluates each child’s behavior during the week to reinforce positive behaviors, generating and maintaining beneficial conduct, motivation, and the child’s autonomy.

At the official Mugendo schools, responsibility for doing homework, being a good teammate, and respecting others is emphasized.

Through the Mugendo schools, behavior at school is also evaluated. Responsibility for doing homework, being a good teammate, respecting others (especially teachers or instructors and the class dynamics), and taking care of personal belongings (breakfast, backpack, and agenda) are worked on.

Practicing Mugendo is suitable for reinforcing children’s psychomotor skills. Mugendo’s physical exercises work on laterality by stimulating both hemispheres.

The working style stimulates different cognitive abilities, so it is suitable for children with both high and low cognitive abilities. It is truly interesting to see sports as suitable for children as judo.

Discipline, respect, attention, and organization are other values that are also developed.

Other cognitive abilities reinforced by the official Mugendo schools are attention and organization. Sustained attention is required during practice to correctly follow the instructors’ directions, attention as a value of respect and discipline. Additionally, the Mugendo space and activities create perceptual organization in the child within an order and rules. Thus, thanks to Mugendo’s reinforcement and reward systems, students learn to control their own anxiety and tolerate frustration.

All these values fully align with the philosophy of Sizen, where values and the protection of minors are part of the company’s CSR project.
